COMMUNITY PROJECTSWe have over 10 years experience in running filmmaking projects for the formal education sector, community groups and charities. Recent projects that we have worked on include a Hip-Hop documentary with Wildern School, a Dance/Horror film with the Eastleigh Arts team, a film-noir with Eastleigh Young Carers and a music video with Hampshire Youth Dance company. We regularly work on projects with George Abbot School, Cowes High School, Toynbee School, Lakeside School, Thornden School, Quilley School of Engineering, Barton Peveril College, The Children's Society, YMCA, Hampshire Dance, Hampshire County Council and Music Fusion. Our industry professionals can work with your group to train them in different elements of filmmaking including storyboarding, camerawork, editing, music composition and make-up to enable them to complete their own short film with our guidance and assistance. The majority of the projects that we work on receive an element of funding. Although we cannot apply for funding on your behalf, we can give you advice on where to apply for funding and help you work out a budget. We can also offer formal accreditation on some projects via the Arts Award scheme. This is an Arts Council supported national qualification which supports young people in their development as artists and arts leaders. We are an accredited Arts Award centre and have two trained Advisers. For more information, contact 023 8065 2220. Or fill in the form below. |

NEW PROJECTS
HURBASY Hurbasy was made, after securing funding of £15,000 from Mediabox, with students from Barton Peveril College, Toynbee School, Quilley School of Engineering and Hampshire Youth Dance Company. The young people learnt new skills, inlcuding, camerawork, make-up, editing, composing, scriptwriting and storyboarding. They also worked with a professional choreographer from StopGAP dance to create movement. The culmination of the project was the making of a 10 minute dance film. Our project MySpace website has more details on this project and other new projects coming up. ![]() "I really really enjoyed the experience so much... I've learn so much from not only the dancing and acting side but also i was given loads of opportunities to get involved in filming, makeup, costume and photographs.... I want to say thank you so much to Gary and everyone else in the team who made it possible for me to meet so many amazing people...I am going to Roehampton university to do dance studies....But i think that i will choose to involve film in my projects alot more... I would love to stay in contact with everyone and get involved in future projects and hopefully use you guys in future as contacts spreading the word about how amazing and talented you are at what you do! Congratulations Hope to work with you all again... Thank you for an experience i will always rememeber!" - Jax, dancer and camera person on this project To see more comments from our young people, please visit hantsmediahub.boomp.com. PREVIOUS PROJECTSBALEFUL We worked on this project in conjunction with a group of Hampshire youth dancers and professional choreographer Leanne Webb. This film was created, filmed, edited and starred in by the dancers. Telling the story of a party gone wrong in a rundown mental health institution, the film mixes dance, strong visuals and music to create a challenging, yet accessible piece of work. ![]() A TOUCH OF MISCHIEF This was a scripted fictional film produced with First Light funding and working with Eastleigh Young Carers group. The group worked on coming up with initial ideas, creating a script, storyboarding, filming, music production and editing. HIP-HOPERA Working with British lyrical artist - Roger Robinson, a group of young students from Wildern School, Hampshire, created spoken word rhymes based upon experiences in their lives. They recorded these and then filmed video images to go with the rhymes, creating a kind of Hip-Hop documentary. |
